About

The Greenstead is a spacious eco-stay set amongst the rolling foothills of Central Gippsland, combining two beautifully designed self-contained quarters (Wildflower and Stringybark) within one welcoming country home. Thoughtfully designed for comfort, connection and slow living, a lockable internal door allows the spaces to flow together or remain private. Alpacas graze nearby, a quiet pond rests in the distance, and on clear days the view stretches across the valley as far as the eye can see.

Set across nine gently evolving acres, The Greenstead is shaped by seasonal rhythms, regeneration and a slower way of living. Rolling paddocks, young food forest plantings and open green spaces surround the home, with alpacas and miniature sheep moving quietly through the landscape as part of everyday life here. The house brings together two fully self-contained quarters under one roof, connected by a lockable internal door. Guests can enjoy the home as one flowing space or as two private retreats — ideal for couples travelling together, friends, or families wanting both togetherness and breathing room. This is the living landscape behind the weekly Greenstead Life podcast, where reflections on simple living, self-reliance and life beyond the rush are drawn directly from this place.

Other Details to Note

The Greenstead is a rural property where nature, animals and seasonal rhythms are part of the experience. Guests of all ages are welcome. As the property includes unfenced dams, animals and other rural features, bookings that include children require a short child safety disclaimer, to be signed and returned within 48 hours of booking or prior to check-in. To care for the land and reduce fire risk, fires of any kind aren’t permitted, including BBQs, outdoor cooking equipment and candles / open flames. Swimming in the dam or pond isn’t permitted, and drones aren’t permitted due to their impact on animals and neighbouring properties. The Greenstead is designed for relaxed stays rather than gatherings. Parties, events and additional visitors aren’t accommodated. Smoking or vaping isn’t permitted indoors, and pets aren’t able to be accommodated.

Guest Access

Guests have exclusive access to The Greenstead main house as booked, including both quarters and the immediate outdoor areas surrounding the home. You’re welcome to wander the open areas of the property during your stay, including walking areas and shared outdoor spaces around the paddocks. Some sections of the land are actively regenerating and may be planted or resting as part of the long-term design. For animal wellbeing, feeding and access inside animal enclosures is by invitation only. Please note the lower gate on the main driveway is reserved for Banjo’s Cabin guests only. Check-in is simple and contactless via keybox, allowing you to arrive and settle in at your own pace.
